The letters Y, T and B are used for models from the manufacturer Yanmar (Y), Takeuchi (T) and Bobcat (B).
K, N and W relate to the leadership of the chain. When the rollers run outside (external), they are marked with a K. In the case of internal chains, the letters are available and W. n is derived from the English "Narrow" and stands for a narrow track (approx. 40 mm). W, on the other hand, stands for "wide", i.e. a wide track (from 50 mm).
Long-Pitch and Short-Pitch
Finally there are differences in the division of the rubber arches. With short-pitch chains, the individual chain members are shorter than with long-pitch chains, which leads to better rolling behavior and lets the machine run calmer.
