You also want to carry out planning work in your company, but you can buy your own planier caterpillar and is not worth it for you? Then a 6-way sign is certainly an option for you. At the same time, you don't want to do without the comfort of an automatic machine control? We can now present a solution for you: Together with Sitech Germany, high construction machinery has developed a control with which the 6-way planier shield on cycling, delta and telescopic loaders can be used and controlled fully automatically. We explain how this works and what advantages you have with it in the blog article.
How does the control of the 6-way sign work?
Our Terrox 6-way planier sign can be attached to various carrier machines such as wheel and compact loaders. The control of the planier sign works with proven machine control systems via e.g. laser, UTS or GPS. The Trimble GCS900 system is used in our photos here. The UTS control has the advantage that it is more precise (accuracy up to 1cm) and also works without a network. Of course, you can also use the sign with GPS if you already have such a system.
The recipients for the corresponding signals, sensors and the hydraulics for control are installed on the sign. In the driver's cab, a display is attached to a bracket, through which basic and hydraulic settings, such as 20cm desired removal, can be made. In addition, a control box is attached there, via which manual to switch to automatic mode, such as a joystick with which the sign can also be operated manually in the six directions.
In automatic mode, the control now receives the environmental data of the system and aligns the sign fully automatically according to the previously selected desired settings. At the push of a button, the sign drives down and automatically levels to reach the set removal. The control regulates the movements of the shield, the driver only has to take care of driving. In this way, extremely precise planning work is also possible with bike, delta and telescopic loaders.
Incidentally, the sign is also equipped with a print plate. So you can also compress directly, at the same time the plate ensures more stability.
What is that good for?
This solution is ideal for you if you want to carry out fine-tilting work with your wheel or compact loader. So you can use your machine with a planier sign, but you do not have to do without the precision of automatic machine control. This is the case, for example, when building the halls and warehouses, sidewalks, platforms, sports facilities or parking spaces and in general for all work that you want to give the final sanding. If you use the 6-way sign with a UTS control, you also have the advantage that you can use it independently of the network. This is particularly helpful, for example in indoor construction, where you often cannot receive a GPS signal along the walls.
Who is that suitable for?
With this new development, you can use your existing wheel, delta or telescopic loader for finishing work without having to invest directly in a planier gap. If you have to plan rather smaller areas or only occasionally, it often makes more sense to convert an existing wheel loader than to buy a new machine directly.
